Updates n’ things

Today is Cinco De Mayo and I haven’t been partying at all. In fact, I have been working all day. My First Friday show at Redux came and went. Since Friday, its been a whirlwind of projects, laundry, starting three new garden beds, hanging with friends and I find myself here updating all the goings on. I just posted all the new illustrations that were in the show. My favorite pieces are:

Floating Television

It was very painful doing this new series, not only because my right thumb is not used to using an exacto knife for hours but drawing a ball of bikes was a challenge. I seriously did everything else but that piece for last. I did laundry, answer emails, looked out the window * sigh…then finally I figured out how I was going to draw it.

It felt really good to see all the pieces, old and new, in one spot. The show was a success and I was beaming all night. I will be posting the prints of all the new pieces and you will see them trickling into my Etsy shop this week.

It was also really great to see all my friends and meet new people. Cheryl Cambras from L.A. was also showing her crocheted birds at Redux. We got to talking and we found out we had a lot in common! Not only is her crocheted boombox just the raddest thing ever but she is a very cool person to boot.

Next door, The Grass Hut was having a show for J. Otto Siebold. Aaron fell in love with this piece and bought it. A little affordable present that is well worth it to see a smile on his face.

If you didn’t get a chance to head out on First Friday, the Redux & Grass Hut show will be up for the month of May so go check it out!

Its about 7pm now, I am going to make a home made pizza and finish watching season 4 of Project Runway. I know I know, I haven’t seen it??? I already know who the winner is too. I have crap cable and Netflix has had one serious long wait for this season 4. I can see why. Its so good!
