New art and some catching up

Well, I have been back for a couple of days now. We had to clean the house because we left it in shambles getting ready for the show. We’ve been making appointments, catching up and now its Saturday.

Chicago was raining when we got there on Friday the 12th. And it rained BUCKETS for the next two days. I mean, it was record rainfall in Chicago. We rented this crazy carni tent that Renegade assigned to us and it sagged, dripped, had waterfalls and moldy spots all over it. Not so good for paper art. Thank goodness for our silver rain tarps (from Harbor Freight) and cello bags because they kept our art dry and humid free. Amazingly, the sun came out on Sunday the 14th at around 3pm and people came out in droves to buy stuff! It totally made up for the slow rainy moments. The electricity we rented for nightfall was never hooked up for safety purposes. Thanks to
Aaron, we were able to buy a propane tank and a kerosene lamp
to get things started for our last night. There were a lot of really brave shoppers who came out soaking wet to see the show and we Thank you Thank you Thank you! We all really appreciated it!

So, this trip was a crazy, comical, adventurous, enduring, fun and exciting disaster. We are so glad we went! Here is my new series made especially for this show, now available in my etsy shop.

Thanks for the lowdown. Doesn’t seem like there was too much socializing under all that rain. Did you need the electricity because the event went past sundown? I don’t remember the Renegade fairs here going into dark.
I’m really diggin’ this series. Beautiful deep blues and with a sense of nostalgia.
So the peeps we know are wrapping up Inner Child today. I think I will be going to the guest event afterwards. Hopefully Sam will have a check for me too!
    Miss you two – db
